Coincidentally, someone moved out of an apartment
I knew about at the same time that I found out
that the house my old place was in sold. Not
knowing if the new owners would continue renting
it as just a room, I decided to move.
My new apartment is more expensive, but a lot
bigger. Still reasonable by Bellingham standards.
Here's to many years in my single room residence.
It worked. Also here's to the move to my new
place. I moved by bicycle for the most part. It
is one block away from my old place.
The house that my old place was in sold for over
$375,000, so I hear. Some friends with a
smartphone were in the city park and we got to
talking about my move. They looked up the real
estate listings. Amazing what you can do in a
park with the smartphone.
Seems like Bellingham's real estate market is
starting to soar again, but I'm okay so far. My
new place is larger and more expensive, but it's
still quite reasonable by Bellingham standards.
The building I am moving to is owned by my
employer, the YMCA.
